Training

A five-module program taken from the manual our own crews work to, delivered by the people who work to it, and assessed against the standard your crew will be held to on the job.

Overview

Capability that stays after we leave

The point of training is a crew that can run the job without us there. Every module comes out of the operating manual our own teams work to, using the same equipment, ratings and workflows as a live in-water hull clean. What your people practise in the room is what they will do at the waterline. Each track closes with a formal assessment against a written standard.

The curriculum

Five modules, one operating standard

The program follows the IWHC operating manual from front to back: the environmental framework a job runs under, then the hardware and software, then the robotics that do the work. Take it as a full certification pathway, or pick the modules a particular role needs.

MODULE 1

Environmental Compliance

The regulatory framework every in-water clean runs under, and the operator's duty within it.

  • IMO biofouling guidelines (MEPC.378(80)) & MARPOL Annex V
  • Biosecurity protocols and invasive-species prevention
  • Water-quality standards and compliant discharge
  • Waste management and environmental monitoring
MODULE 2

Quality Management

Records and reporting that hold up when a regulator or auditor asks.

  • Reporting triggers and the reporting process
  • Daily log sheets and maintenance records
  • Documentation and record-keeping discipline
  • Incident reporting and audit readiness
MODULE 3

IWHC Hardware Systems

The filtration and power train, from mobilisation to demobilisation.

  • Bow screen, Baleen filter, bag filter and UV stages
  • HPU, trash pump, rapid reel and hose management
  • Mobilisation, initialisation, operation and shutdown SOPs
  • Routine maintenance and troubleshooting
MODULE 4

MarineStream Software

Capturing the evidence and turning it into a compliant record.

  • Camera setup, live streaming and video capture
  • Worklogs, screenshots and evidence tagging
  • Automated compliance reporting and BFMP linkage
  • Performance analytics and fouling-trend data
MODULE 5

Introduction to Robotics

The two ROV classes and the diver tooling that works alongside them: how to pick the right method for the surface, and clean without damaging the coating.

  • Flying ROVs for inspection and surveillance
  • Crawling ROVs for grooming and cleaning
  • Diver hand tools, capture funnels and niche-area methods
  • Tool selection and antifouling coating protection
How it is delivered

Classroom first, then the waterline

Each module runs the same way: classroom, then live equipment, then the dock, then supervised work on real assets where the site allows it. Delivery can be on site, remote or blended, scoped to your fleet, jurisdiction and equipment.

01 · In the room Classroom

The framework, the procedure and the reason behind each SOP.

02 · On the bench Live equipment

Hands on the machine, covering familiarisation and setup.

03 · At the dock Demonstration

Dockside demos of the crawler and filtration train.

04 · In the water Supervised work

Real assets, supervised, where the site allows.

Who it is for

Scoped to the role

The manual covers six roles across an IWHC operation. A program can certify a whole crew, or just the modules one role needs.

  • Equipment operators
  • Maintenance technicians
  • Site supervisors
  • Dive supervisors
  • Divers
  • Compliance officers
Pairs with Learn on the systems you keep
With a hardware purchase

Crews train on the exact ROVs, crawler and filtration plant they'll operate.

With a software subscription

Teams learn the capture, approval and reporting workflow on their own fleet.
